Fourth win in six matches for the Boys that towards the end of the season are showing an improved team spirit and good football skills.

The Boys dominated the first half with a good defence line up with Jack Cannell, Lewis Fairgrieves, Liam Dundas and Galekwe Ramoleko that blocked all the Pinley’s attacks, while the midfield with Adam Phipps, Ross Lloyd and Ryan Long sustained the formidable three upfront with “ Ronaldinho “ Shaun Berry that went through players to set chances for a good Matthew Dixon and a spectacular Peter Winterbottom that slot in goal number 1 and 3 to finish the first half 3-0 up. Together with Peter Winterbottom there was another MOM i.e RT Goalkeeper Domenico Roggero that apart from saving the result in the second half scored the second goal with a sensational 70 yards hand kick from his penalty area.

The second half started with Pinley pressing RT in their penalty area and scoring after few minutes on a secondary chance after a good save fro RT Goalkeeper. RT regained control of the game after 15 minutes and started creating new chances, but 5 minutes to the end Pinley slotted a second goal in. RT reaction finalised the score on 4-2 after a good 5 passes action that ended with a beautiful slotted ball on the far corner that gave a deserved hat-trick to Peter Winterbottom.

Well played Boys .

Another good result for the Boys that with an ok performance ended the first half 1-0 up due to a Peter Winterbottoms’ special counter attack that netted the goal bottom corner at the far end post.

The Boys could have doubled the lead but a beautiful shot from Shaun Berry just missed the crossbar that Peter Winterbottom hit with another good shot. At the other end Brinklow were also unlucky by hitting the post. Second half was much more lively with Brinklow equalising thanks to a lucky rebound that freed a player, that netted the ball at the far corner, in front of RT Gk. After that the Boys increased the level of play and missed another 5 goals with a much improved Ross Lloyd, Ryan Long and Peter Winterbottom that stretched the Brinklow defence that either through to good goalkeeping or inches wide shots managed to survive a match that RT fully deserved to win. Not a lucky season, but keep the chin up, Boys

After 3 consecutive wins the Boys undeservedly lost away to Keresley Colts.

Down to 10 players ( due to illnesses ), playing uphill, with strong wind and slit at time against them, the Boys equalled the opposition in the first half, unfortunately on missed chances and missed penalty as well. The home team managed to finish 1-0 up thanks to a fortunate rebound that placed a forward in front of RT Gk that managed to avoid the score on the first attempt but not on the second, while at the other end a RT goal was not allowed even if the ball had crossed the line.

During the second half ( sunshine out and very light wind ) RT created at least 8 chances in front of the Keresley Gk but all were saved or narrowly missed the goal. RT increased the tempo, but on a Kereseley corner, a deflection send the ball to the first post were another bad bounce ( the pitch was not the best ) of the ball misled the defender on the line and made the final score line 2-0 for the home team, against the run of play.

All 10 brave boys battled well and deserved much more. Special mention to Adam Phipps, Jack Cannell, Lewis Fairgrieves, Galekwe Ramoleko, Peter Winterbottom and Shaun Berry. Chin up and let’s go for the next one!
