Lutterworth 0-2 Rugby Town
11 March 2007

Rugby Town Hawkes sponsered by KELTRUCK travelled to Lutterworth for their final game of the season with the bare 7 once again.

Afew changes were made with Charlie Whiteside taking his turn in goal and Lutterworth should have taken the lead but the striker shot wide after being clean through. Rugby then dominated the rest of the half with Finn Reid creating chances for Josh Kavanagh and Jordan Koria but good saves prevented the visitors taking the
lead.

Sam Lockley then produced one of the goals of the season with a great individual run and then slotted the ball cooly under the keeper. Rugby then grabbed a second with a sweet half voleey from the edge of the area by Alex Winton.

The second half saw both sides have good chances with Charlie coming out of goal and Curtley Bale taking over, and showing that he is a 'rock' in goal as well as defence. The game finished 2 - 0 to Rugby and depending on results will finish 2nd or 3rd, a good return from a hard season.Player of the day was Sam Lockley for a great finish and good work on the wing.

A big thank you to Raj for all his hard work this season

Rugby Town 0-1 Kingsway Rangers
4 March 2007

Rugby sponsored by KELTRUCK started the game in a positive mood on a very difficult muddy and wet pitch knowing that they had to win this game to win the league.

The first half was all Rugby with Finn Reed coming close to scoring. There was some good work in midfield by George and Sam Ball. A through ball by George Ball to Charlie Whitside nearly resulted in a goal. Kingsway did not have a shoot on goal in the first half with the solid defending by Curtley Bale and Jordan Koria. Sam Lockley in goal did not have much to do. Rugby finished the strongest in the first half.

Second half saw Rugby again dominate. Injury to Jordan Koria, Josh Kavanagh was brought on and made an immediate impact. A through ball from Josh to Charlie resulted in first time shot by Charlie hitting the cross bar.

It was then end to end game but still Kingsway did not have a shot on goal. With 5 minutes remaining Kingsway were award a corner kick and this resulted in a goal straight from the kick. With minutes remaining Rugby nearly equalised through Josh but the shot went just wide of the goal.

Rugby were unlucky to lose, but all the lads played very well. I would like to thank the parents and grandparents for their support on this very wet and miserable day.

Rugby Town 0-2 Glenfield
25 February 2007

Rugby sponsered by KELTRUCK started the game well on a difficult pitch and went close a couple of times in the opening few minutes with some good work in the midfield by Finn Reid, Charlie Whiteside and George Ball supplying Sam Lockley up front who was being well marshalled by the visitors defence.

Stand in goalkeeper Alex Winton again showed that he can play between the sticks making some vital saves.

With the scores level at half time Sam Ball was brought on with Alex being replaced in goal by Finn Reid and after an impressive display in defence Jordan Koria was moved into midfield.Rugby took their foot off the gas and were punished when Glenfield took the lead midway through the 2nd half.

With time running out Rugby were pushing for the equaliser when Glenfield broke away and Curtley Bale who after another solid performance was left on his own and despite some good saves by Finn he couldn't do anything to keep the low shot out.

A surprise defeat for Rugby but credit to Glenfield who played well and in the end deserved their victory.

Thanks once again to Martin for refereeing
