Harborough Minis 2-2 Owls
Saturday 24 March 2007 | Friendly

Arriving in Harboro' on a bright saturday morning the Owls found they were playing on a freshly cut and even pitch.

The first half was a very even match with both teams creating chances and defending well leaving it nil nil at half time. But the second half was a different story with both teams feeling more confident after their first half displays. With Luke Barnwell leading excellently as captain all of the team played well with Ross and Cameron Clark, George Muston, Kear Bale and Cameron Kanda all defending strongly through out limited Harboro' to few chances which two of them they took.

After Harboro' went one up the Owls midfield battled hard and created many chances through Jacub Reed,Cameron Kanda, George, Luke, Kear and Liam Smith passing up to Daniel Harborne. Rugby equalised when Luke took several players on and shot from distance and netted in the bottom corner. But when Harboro' went two one up with seconds to go Liam Smith got the ball back and moved towards the Harboro' goal meeting a strong defence, he then held up the ball, turned and rocketed the ball into the roof of the net making it two all at the final whistle. Another great display of the strength and depth in the Owls showing courage when going behind twice in a half, well done lads.

Owls 3-1 Harborough Minis
Saturday 10 March 2007 | Friendly

A Fantastic comeback by the Owls in the second half saw the team win their third match of the season.

It was Harboro though that started the match the better team with some great passing and persistency which paid of with a fine goal for the visitors.. They could have scored more if it were not for the excellent defending from Cameron Kanda, Cameron Clark, Jacob Reed and Luke Barnwell. Harry Finch had a couple of close chances in the first half.

In the second half, and with a complete change of personnel by coach Matt Osborne due to the Owls now growing to a huge squad, Rugby came out all guns blazing and quickly equalised via goal machine Daniel Harborne. They further strengthened their lead with two goals from new boys Keelan Bennett and Dominic Coleman. Keelan's passing proving the big difference. Assured captaincy by Isaac Evans and some great goal keeping by Ross Clark ensured the Owls got a great win to add to their list of wins this season.

Great work by Mikle Vostricov, Billy Wagstaffe, Kear Bale and George Muston rounded off a great day in perfect playing conditions. Many Thanks to Paul Onyett for refereeing the game.

Owls 1-6 Stockton
Saturday 3 March 2007 | Friendly

On a difficult greasy pitch Rugby Town Owls battled hard to get out of their own half to really get a hold on the game. As a result the strength and tackling of Stockton was too much and they took the Owls into the break 4 - 0 up at half time.

In the second half the Owls battled harder but still managed to get narrowly beaten by two more goals in this half before they replied with a great well taken individual effort from the emerging Daniel Harborne.

Many thanks have to go to Sofia Bright and George Muston who had the difficult job of keeping goal. Well done to Jacob Reed, Liam Smith, Kaymar Miller, Ross Clarke, Cameron Clarke, Cameron Kanda, Luke Barnwell, Mikle Vostricov and captain Isaac Evans.

Harborough Minis 0-2 Rugby Town Owls
Saturday 24 February 2007 | Friendly

After a night of heavy rain Rugby travelled to Market Harborough on saturday for their first away match.

Both teams started well on the sticky pitch and were playing some great end to end football. Captain Isaac Evans from the start led his team excellently and showed great defensive knowledge next to Oliver Rogerson and Ross Clarke, who all passed and dribbled the ball out to the midfield to create many attacking chances for the Owls.

With Kear Bale, Billy Wagstaffe, Cameron Clarke, Luke Barnwell and Harry Finch battling hard in midfield to play some beautiful passed balls through to Daniel Harborne and George Muston who had some fine shots saved or just missed. With constant pressure being applied Rugby went one up when Oliver smashed a ball towards goal which took a funny bounce and passed the keeper.

The second half started the same with Harboro' attacking well and making Rugby defend and Rugby trying to counter-attack down the wings. With both sets of teams getting tired and playing the game more in midfield the game could have gone both to either side, But late on the Owls found space and Kear flew down the wing and hammered the ball low across the penalty area for George Muston to run onto and score to put the Owls two up and get the win. Once again I would like to thank the Owls for showing how much they have learned and developed through the year, with everyone giving great team and individual performances and thanks to Harboro' Minis for a excellent morning of football. Hopefully they will just keep getting better and gain some great experience for next year, Well done lads.
