A student at Coventry University, Nigerian-born Akin joined the club in January 2007 and made a string of impressive displays for the reserves which led to a first team call up.

He made his debut as a late substitute against Hitchin Town in February before he was finally given his chance to start in a crucial game against Northwood in which he scored twice. A player who is a handful for any defence with his electric pace and great strength.

Akin signed a one-year deal with the club in August 2007 and had a one-month with Bedworth United in March 2008.
