Alessandro signed for Rugby in August 2007 after featuring in pre-season and made a swift debut in the opening home game of the season against Brackley Town.

21-year-old Barcherini, who was born in Terni, Italy, was previously on the books as an apprentice with Notts County before moving to the USA to take a degree in Sports Management at Stetson University.
