Steve re-joined Rugby Town for a fifth time in July 2011 under Dave Stringer.

The experienced central midfielder was originally signed by Tony Dobson initially from Hednesford Town in the 2004/5 close season. 

Steve has made two FA Trophy final appearances for Hednesford and Tamworth after starting his career with Aston Villa as a youngster. 

He was signed by Nigel Clough at Burton Albion after he helped Tamworth to the Southern League Premier Division title before moving to Hednesford.

After his first spell for Rugby, Steve left for Grantham Town at the end of the 2004/5 season before returning to the club under Billy Jeffrey in November 2005.

He was released in June 2006 but then came back for a third spell in December 2007.

Steve rejoined Rugby for a fourth spell under Dobson again in September 2008 but made just one cup appearance.
