Gez re-joined Rugby in December 2009 after a thirteen year absence from Butlin Road.

Murphy, 33, started out with Rugby back in 1994 scoring 14 goals in over 80 appearances until 1996 before moving on up the non-league pyramid.

Famously scored an equalising goal against Premier League side Middlesbrough for Nuneaton and also scored two goals in the replay at the Riverside Stadium.

Gez led Rugby to their first league win of the season against Clevedon Town in December but a hamstring injury in only his second game back could limit the striker's appearances until the end of the season.
