Scott signed for Rugby in July 2007 after impressing in pre-season friendlies.

He started his career as a youngster at Norwich City before moving onto Leicester City's and Stoke City's academy. The left-sided midfielder then moved onto Cheltenham Town where he earned a one-year professional contract in 2005. While at Cheltenham, Scott had a work-experience spell with Cirencester Town before being released.

He joined Stamford in July 2006 before moving onto Grantham Town in October 2006 and finished the season with Corby Town after signing in March 2007.
