David

his first of two goals, helping Valley
to a first league win of the season. |

Rugby
Town finally ended their wait for a league win
with a comprehensive 4-0 win at Butlin Road against
fellow strugglers Stourbridge.
Valley
had failed to register a league goal at home before
tonight's game but the floodgates finally opened.
Delroy
Gordon's spectacular 30-yard effort set the tone
for the first half, driving the ball wonderfully
into the top corner early on.
Valley
added a second when the outstanding David Stone
evaded his two markers in the penalty area with
a great display of footwork before cutting back
to David Kolodynski to tap home.
Kolodynski
doubled his tally and extended the lead just before
the break when he headed home Steve Purton's expertly
executed deep cross.
Rugby
closed out the second half which proved to be
far more uneventful with Stone sqaundering a chance
to get a deserved goal.
Purton
finished the scoring when he powerfully ran through
and netted despite the best efforts of the goalkeeper
and covering defender.
The
only worry for Rugby was goalkeeper Andrew Stevens
being forced from the field with injury in the
second half.
