Hitchin Town will be the opening day visitors to Butlin Road as Rugby Town get their Zamaretto Division One Central campaign underway on 14th August against last season's runners-up.

Hitchin narrowly missed out on promotion last season after a superb season following relegation from the Zamaretto Premier the season before.

Rugby will face Bedworth United on the August Bank Holiday and New Year's Day dates while they face Leighton Town in the Boxing Day/Easter Monday fixtures.

Rugby's opening day record has been poor in recent history. Last season's 1-5 drubbing at Swindon Supermarine was preceded by last minute opening day defeats to Merthyr Tydfil in 2007 & Farnborough in 2008.

Valley drew their last home opening day fixture against Mangotsfield back in 2005. The last win in the first game came 7 years ago against Gloucester City.
