Valley return to Calor League action this weekend with the visit of perennial contenders Slough Town.
After progressing through a tough FA Cup encounter at Norton United on Tuesday on penalties, Rugby's focus returns to the league against the pre-season favourites for the title, Slough.
Rugby's start to the league campaign faltered after wins in the first two games and Dave Stringer's men will be looking to react to the heavy defeat to Daventry Town on Bank Holiday Monday
The game is also part of 'Non League Day' - with no international, Premier League or Championship matches today, fans are encouraged to come and enjoy a non-league game.
Slough Town
Slough have made a slow start to the season after a change in management over the summer and an almost complete overhaul of their squad with ex-Godalming Town management team Jon Underwood & Neil Baker taking the helm.
They have had just one win so far this season (at Kettering) and they exited the FA Cup on Tuesday after a replat away to Cirencester.
Last season, Slough suffered towards the end of the campaign having to play multiple games per week because of their excellent FA Cup run which saw them lose in a replay to Mansfield Town on penalties in the First Round Proper.
The Rebels eventually finished in sixth just outside the play offs - it was the first time they had finished outside of the top six since joining the Southern League Central Division in 2009.
Head to Head: Rugby v Slough
Rugby have a favourable record against Slough with four wins out of the previous six meetings in the past three seasons although there have been two heavy defeats against the Rebels including the 0-4 home reversal in April at Butlin Road.
Player News
Lewis McBride is unavailable due to work commitments for this game and his red card on Tuesday will mean that he has an impending three-match ban which will start on 17th September.
Midfielders Richard Blythe and Andrew Spencer should be available again after missing Tuesday's FA Cup game at Norton for work commitments also.
Valley are still missing long-term absentee & club captain Robbie Banks who is still working back to fitness after the broken leg he sustained in February.
