Rugby's first home friendly was abandoned during the second half due to heavy rain and flash floods at Butlin Road.
After an entertaining and sunny first half, the referee took the players off the pitch as the storm hit Butlin Road before taking the decision shortly after to abandon the match with little sign of the rain easing
Tamworth were leading 1-0 through a first half goal from a Lambs trialists scrambling the ball into the net from close range after a corner.
Rugby came close with efforts from Justin Marsden and Sam Youngs which flashed just wide of the post from the edge of the area before Jamie Towers came closer still when he rounded the goalkeeper but he could only squeeze his shot from a tight angle against the far post.
