Rugby Town have signed key duo Seb Lake-Gaskin and Niall Cooper - both on one-year deals ahead of the new season.

Both players were influential last season for Valley with striker Lake-Gaskin taking a near clean sweep of the Player of the Season awards after his 28-goal haul while goalkeeper Cooper was ever present and was also recognised in his first season with the club at the club's annual awards evening.

Seb Lake-Gaskin has now scored 53 goals for Rugby since joining in 2011.

23-year-old Lake-Gaskin re-signed for Rugby Town in March 2012 from Hucknall Town.

Seb's blistering pace, trickery and eye for a pass make him a constant threat to any defence and he formed a deadly partnership with David Kolodynski in the 2012/3 season as they shared 52 league goals between them.

Lake-Gaskin had an even better 2013/4 netting 28 goals and setting up 16 others as he was universally regarding as the player of the season taking a clean sweep of awards at the end of the season.

Seb has now moved into Rugby's top 10 of senior goalscorers with 53 goals in 110 appearances - one ahead of David Stone and one behind Dave Ingram.

Lake-Gaskin had initially signed for Rugby in October 2011 from Worcester City and impressed in his short time with his sheer pace & skill before opting to join Evo-Stik League Northern side Hucknall Town in January 2012 prior to his Butlin Road return soon after.

Seb spent two seasons in the Conference National with Tamworth making over 50 appearances and scoring two goals.

Niall Cooper kept 17 clean sheets for Valley in an ever-present first season at Butlin Road

Niall signed for Rugby from Leamington in July 2013 from Leamington.

The highly-rated 23-year-old goalkeeper played 20 games for The Brakes as they were promoted from the Southern League Premier has also previously also featured for Redditch and Kettering.

Cooper had a superb first season with Rugby impressing with all parts of his game and in particular his shot stopping.
