Rugby Town left it late to see off a dogged Harborough Town and take a deserved three points from Bowden Park.
Jazz Luckie had given Valley an early advantage, but Harborough pegged them back just before the interval, with a late strike from Charlie Evans and a Ryan Seal penalty finally seeing Rugby make their second half pressure pay.
Luckie and Dylan Parker came in for Justin Marsden and Fazel Koriya in two changes from the starting line-up a week earlier in the Vase defeat at Newark, and the visitors took the lead on eight minutes when Luckie was on-hand to divert home Seal's knee-high cross after Town's original corner had only been half cleared.
Harborough's Aaron Preston twice tested Valley keeper Matt Hill, with Hill first making a decent save to a header and then comfortably gathering a weak shot from the home striker.
Evans squandered a decent opportunity after Loyiso Recci had played him on goal, and Koriya drifted a cross onto the top of the bar, as Town looked to add to their tally.
Liam Francis headed a Seal corner wide, before Harborough equalised on the stroke of half-time, when Barnes Gladman finished off a well-worked team move.
Rugby dominated the majority of the second period though, and saw a variety of chances go begging.
Luckie's stooping header flew just over and a further effort from the frontman drifted just wide, with Town also denied by a number of defensive clearances and blocks.
Valley's frustrations continued when Luckie saw his spot-kick saved by Glen Giles, after he himself had been fouled in the penalty box.
Hill made a rare stop at the other end, with a stretching save from Josh Walsh, with Evans, Parker and Cain Thomas all trying their luck without joy for Rugby.
Giles then did well to tip Parker's strike onto the woodwork, with the keeper also denying Thomas's surge towards goal.
Town's second finally came on 84 minutes, when Evans finished off a Seal dinked pass, and Seal put the game beyond doubt from the penalty spot after sub Marsden had been taken out by Giles.
