Valley put on a dominant display to dismantle Deeping Rangers at Butlin Road.

James Hancocks brilliantly opened the scoring early on to set Rugby on the way to victory before Danico Johnson doubled the lead just before half time.

But it was in the second half when Valley really showed their dominance with a Charlie Evans brace and another from the influential Dylan Parker finishing off the scoring.

Deeping did not threaten early on, but in the 19th minute Tai Williams missed a sitter from close range after receiving a long ball from Jack Bloodworth.

The dominance continued in the second half when Johnson's jinking run ended in a decent shot but he dragged his effort wide.

Just ahead of the hour mark, the game moved further away from Deeping when Charlie Evans in a more forward role scored from six yards out from another fine pass into the area from Parker.

Substitute Ryan Seal nearly got onto the scoring sheet when his well-struck effort was saved by Daniel Swain.

Parker then deservedly got a goal of his own when he found space and hit a powerful shot, after a incisive pass from Lee Thomas.

With just under twenty minutes left, Evans grabbed his second and Rugby's fifth when again the Deeping defence could not cope with Parker, whose accurate pass found Evans at the far post for him to complete a resounding victory and keep the early pressure on leaders Shepshed Dynamo.
