Rugby Town returned to winning ways with a hard fought win over Rothwell Corinthians in the Easter sunshine.
A first Valley goal for Michael Taylor gave his new club a half-time lead, with Caine Elliott doubling this from the spot just ahead of the hour mark, before the hosts' Lamin Jammeh set up a nervy conclusion to the game with a further successfully converted penalty.
Taylor made his first start as one of three changes from the home defeat to Newport Pagnell, with another new signing James Fry and Madundo Semahimbo also on from the off.
Rugby started brightly and Luke English was soon skying one way over the bar, after neat play out wide by Tom Fielding.
Elliott's low cross was cut out after the midfielder had shrugged off his marker to free himself down the left, with the same player lifting one off-target shortly after as the chances continued to come the visitors way.
Corinthians keeper Jude O'Connor was then quickly off his line to gather the ball just ahead of Semahimbo, with Taylor also denied when his shot from the edge of the area was deflected away.
Two strikes from a narrow angle by Jammeh represented rare moments of attacking threat from the home side, with both efforts being blocked, but generally Town were the dominant force on proceedings.
Taylor headed a Barry Fitzharris cross wide, before he opened his Valley account with a surge and low finish after Fry's delivery had been headed to him by Rothwell defender Aaron Healey.
The burly front-man almost added another ahead of the break, but English's flick-on to Elliott's driven cross was narrowly out of his reach.
The second period took a while to get going, but Rugby extended their advantage on 57 minutes after O'Connor had bundled through the back of Taylor as he looked to control Elliott's hooked pass - with Elliott making it two from two from the spot by beating O'Connor with his strike into the bottom corner.
Another searching ball through the middle - this time by Fitzharris - just failed to fall for Taylor, before Matt Hill was called upon for his first real save of the match when he parried away a decent strike by Tai Williams.
Elliott also cleared one off the line as Corinthians looked to get back into the game, whilst at the other end Semahimbo shot into the side netting and a Fielding free-kick from distance was tipped over the bar by O'Connor.
The hosts were rewarded for their efforts when Hill tripped sub Owen Jacques in the box to give Jammeh the chance to set up a tense final ten minutes or so, and he duly obliged by sending Hill the wrong way with his spot-kick.
The best opportunity of the remainder of the match fell to Fielding though, but he put in a wayward effort after he had got in behind the Rothwell defence in added-time.
