Rugby Town's penultimate pre-season friendly ended in defeat at Butlin Road against Newport Pagnell Town.
Jarvis Wilson headed in for the visitors in the closing stages to score the only goal of the game in a very competitive friendly where clear cut chances were at a premium.
Matt Hill was carrying a slight injury but was soon thrown back into action when the trialist goalkeeper sustained his own injury midway through the first half.
Barry Fitzharris returned to the starting XI while Keenah Rosser, Alex Lock and Dan Summerfield all returned to the subs bench after missing Saturday's win over Leamington although Ryan Sahota was still away and Kyle Burke & Edwin Ahenkorah injured.
The visitors found some joy in the first half with a few of counter attacks as Rugby failed to match the same attacking fluidity as from the weekend.
The closest Rugby came in the first period was from a Newport defender's head when Luke English's long throw was directly narrowly wide.
English then had two successive chances from headers at the start of the second half from Karabo Motshweni set pieces.
Swans winger Kieron Barnes missed the best chance of the game shortly after when he cut in from the left but contrived to miss the target from ten yards.
Josh Thomas saw a shot from outside the area well tipped over the bar before Tom Fielding weaved a chance for himself inside the area before seeing his shot blocked.
The single goal came from a deep cross from the left which found Wilson unmarked at the far post and he made no mistake with his header.
