Rugby Town played out another entertaining friendly at a rainsoaked Kirkby Road against newly-promoted UCL Premier South side Hinckley.
The hosts were heading into the game with confidence following their promotion and three successive six-goal pre-season victories so Valley boss Carl Adams knew it would be a good workout.
Adams was without the likes of Mikey Taylor, Chris Clements, Ryan Sahota, Barry Fitzharris, Liam Francis and Edwin Ahenkorah with new forward Trey Charles starting the game among a patchwork midfield.
It was Charles who gave Rugby the lead with a superbly worked goal playing one-twos just outside the box with David Kolodynski and a trialist before dispatching a low shot into the net from 18 yards.
Luke Jones equalised in the second half for Hinckley from close range after good wing play by Isa Abraham to beat Dan Summerfield out wide.
Valley re-took the lead with a very different goal from the first as Charles chased down Paul Hathaway's long kick, beating the goalkeeper to the ball and allowing Hilton Arthur to put the ball into the net for his second goal of pre-season.
Hinckley finished the scoring when Josh Beeson got the run on the Rugby defence from the right wing before firing a low, powerful shot into the far corner.
