Rugby Town played out an open and entertaining friendly against local UCL Premier South side Lutterworth Town on the Butlin Road 3G.
Valley boss Carl Adams again used the game to field a squad of two different XI's in each half with a number of new signings, trialists and familiar faces on show.
There were first pre-season outings for Chris Clements, Ryan Sahota, Barry Fitzharris and Edwin Ahenkorah while new winger Tayo Alexander-Tucker was away.
Fresh from returning to the club to sign a one-year deal this week, striker Mikey Taylor opened the scoring for Rugby in typical fashion showing his strength and speed of thought in the box to collect a throw-in before turning two men and poking a low finish into the net.
The visitors were soon level when winger Louis Samuels lifted a smart finish high into the net from just inside the box.
Another fine goal saw Rugby retake the lead as Clements displayed great technique to find the postage stamp with a first time shot after playing a one-two with David Kolodynski.
Luterworth levelled a second time shortly afterwards as Matt Langham pounced on a loss of possession to feed Samuels to slot home his second.
After the mass changes at the break the goals kept coming as one of Valley's trialists burst onto a loose ball in the box before teeing up Trey Charles who lifted a delicate finish over the goalkeeper from inside the box.
The visitors levelled for a third time when one of their substitutes ran through before rounding Rugby's trialist goalkeeper to score.
Charles added his second from the penalty spot, coolly slotting into the net after MJ Semahimbo was adjudged to be fouled in the area.
