Valley Draw Nailers in Trophy
Rugby Town have been drawn at home to Belper Town in the Isuzu FA Trophy Second Round Qualifying.
Valley only just faced the Nailers in the Northern Premier League Midlands just over a week ago at Christchurch Meadows with the sides playing out a very entertaining 1-1 draw.
Saturday's win at home to 10-man Racing Club Warwick signalled Valley's first win in the FA Trophy since 2010 after 11 successive failed attempts.
The last time Rugby reached the Third Round Qualifying was in the 2004/5 season when they had the luxury of starting in the First Round Proper.
The FA Trophy features teams from the National League Premier (Step 1 of non-league pyramid) down to Rugby's league and equivalent (Step 4).
Valley last reached the Second Round Qualifying 15 years ago with wins over Leighton Town and Hemel Hempstead Town before bowing out to Stocksbridge Park Steels.
The match against Belper Town will be played at Butlin Road on Saturday 20th September 2025 with the game to be determined by a penalty shootout with no extra time and no replay if that match is drawn. |
