Belper Town eased into the next round of the Emirates FA Cup with a three-goal burst within eight first-half minutes doing the damage at Butlin Road.
The hosts started brightly though, with Aaron Nuttall firing over and a Jamie Ashmore effort deflected away for a corner.
However, Jack Edwards had already struck the crossbar ahead of the 33rd-minute opener when Harry Draper headed home Louis Keenan's corner.
Another Draper header to Ben Rhodes' deep cross soon made it two, with Tom Eccleshall's crisp finish then beating Ash Bodycote.
The second-half was more even, with Belper keeper Kieran Preston denying sub Devonn O'Sullivan with a fine full-length save just past the hour.
Rugby grabbed a consolation when Rivel Mardenborough picked himself from a push by Rhodes in the box to convert from the spot, but Curtis Borrows' individual goal restored the visitors' comfortable margin in added-time.
