Valley continued their pre-season progress with a win at local side AFC North Kilworth.
There was a much shorter 10-mile journey for the Rugby Town faithful after the Skegness trip on Saturday but Grant Joshua's men were equally dominant against their Midland Football League Division One hosts.
Most of the damage was done as Valley scored four goals in a 13-minute spell before half time with academy prospect Hudson Petkovic adding a fifth goal in the second half.
With no Rivel Mardenborough available, Ryan Boothe came into attack while there were also first pre-season appearances for winger Louis Samuels and goalkeeper Ash Bodycote with defenders Ben Richards and Nathan Scott coming off the bench.
Rugby had to wait until just after the half hour mark to open the scoring as Jamie Ashmore headed Jake Duffy's cross across the six yard box allowing Boothe to tap in from close range.
Centre back Jake Wormleighton rose highest to nod in Duffy's corner at the far post before Aaron Nuttall added a third with a low finish following Boothe's low pass into the box.
Wormleighton got his second from another Duffy corner just before the break leaping to powerfully head into the top corner.
There was just a single goal in the second half with 17-year-substitute Petkovic collecting Sam Tye's path in the area before moving the ball onto his left foot and firing into the net from a tight angle.
