Zidan Sutherland's brace ensured Valley continued their fine form with a derby win over Atherstone Town at Butlin Road.
In front of an impressive 660 fans, the game was a well-contested, tight affair with neither side creating a glut of clear-cut chances.
Town's starting line-up showed just one change from the comfortable victory at Yaxley a week earlier, with Lewi Burnside returning at right-back in place of Devonn O'Sullivan, but it was the visitors who almost took the lead in the opening few minutes when Ryan Harkin headed Chris Cowley's cross wide from a great position.
Sutherland then tested rookie visiting keeper Nathan Beckett with a strike from distance after he had cut in from the right, before both Cowley and Jack Edwards shot way over Rugby's bar.
In between those two wayward efforts, Rivel Mardenborough had done well to get to the byline following Sam Tye's pass, but his cross was just cut-out.
Jake Wormleighton headed an Aaron Nuttall corner over, with Stephan Morley executing a fine tackle to stop Edwards getting his shot off after he had completed a neat one-two with Adders' skipper Lewis Collins around the edge of the box.
Nuttall then surged through the heart of the Atherstone defence before firing his effort off the outside of the post from fully twenty yards, and the hosts' decent spell continued with Mardenborough denied by a sliding tackle by Connor Gudger after the Town striker had managed to poke the ball around Beckett in the area. Valley's opening goal did come on 32 minutes though, when Sutherland ran onto Tye's through-pass to calmly finish things off through Beckett's legs.
The visitors slung in a couple of dangerous deliveries into Rugby's box in the closing moments of the first-half, but both times these were just cleared away to safety.
Atherstone started well after the interval, with Edwards blazing Collins' lay-back over the frame, and a Gudger back-post header comfortably taken by Ash Bodycote. Edwards fired another chance off-target after a scramble in the box, with a further scramble seeing Bodycote ultimately claim a low cross from Cowley.
Sutherland's first-time effort to Tye's lofted ball flew over, and then Tye, Charlie Tilley and Nuttall all had shots blocked in quick succession as Town finally appeared to find their second-half feet.
Tye headed Hisham Chiha's corner wide, and Burnside twice threatened with crosses from the right, as Rugby's good spell continued.
Nuttall's looping header to Sutherland's cross was saved by Beckett, with Mardenborough dragging one wide after Tilley had headed the ball onto him.
A great press from Chiha saw him win the ball in an advanced position, with the midfielder finding Mardenborough in the box, and he quickly laid the ball back to Nuttall to run at Thomas Healy - who duly brought him down on the penalty box line to give Town the chance to double their lead from the spot.
Sutherland confidently powered the ball into the left-hand corner to make it six goals in his last five appearances. Rugby were soon pushing for a third, with Nuttall's surge into the box ending with a cross that was only half-cleared, with Sutherland's shot-on-the-turn blocked away.
Nuttall did well again down the left shortly after, with his low cross gathered by Beckett at the second attempt, and Sutherland then missed out on a chance for hat-trick when the ball got stuck under his feet in the box.
There was, however, a nervy ending for the Valley faithful after Cowley curled in his free-kick on 84 minutes after Wormleighton had somehow been punished for an infringement just outside the Town box.
Fortunately, Rugby's defence held firm for the remainder of the match, and they recorded a seventh successive victory in all competitions - and six on the bounce in the league.
