Valley suffered their first defeat of the season as FC Peterborough came from behind twice to win at Butlin Road.

The win also represtened FC Peterborough's first points at this level following their promotion last season as was a disappointing result for Rugby who had held the lead twice and missed a number of excellent chances to effectively seal the points before the Green Army came on strongly late in the game.

Ryan Bridgewater gave the hosts the lead as he flicked a header into the top corner from Jake Duffy's free-kick.

Peterborough winger Aziz Mhamdi equalised with a superb 25-yard effort which flew into the corner past Ash Bodycote.

Ryan Boothe contrived to only hit the post just before the break with the goal at his mercy after Aaron Nuttall's initial shot had been saved.

Nuttall was brought down for the penalty soon into the second half as Boothe was able to redeem himself as he slotted home his first goal for the club.

Peterborough got level on the counter attack and Derick Dadzie squared the ball for Mhamdi to slide in at the far post and get his second of the game.

Another turnover led to the winning goal as Mhamdi was brought down in the box by Bridgewater with Vitor Vaz stepping up to convert.
