KOLO
AT THE DOUBLE SEES VALLEY THROUGH
Rugby
Town progressed to the final 16 of the Errea Cup
in a repeat of last season's third round game
with a 2-0 win over Halesowen Town.
Rugby-born
striker David Kolodynski netted a quick-fire double
in four second half minutes to go some way to
rectify the 4-1 defeat to Halesowen just three
days prior.
Tom
Breward and David Staff were both unavailable
while Delroy Gordon returned after a facial injury.
The
first half was evenly contested with Halesowen
going closest when Paul Devlin was denied by Martyn
Margarson.
The
second half was far more eventful with Margarson
making two outstanding saves to keep the scores
level.
Rugby
took the lead with twenty minutes remaining when
Gordon's low shot was saved by James Dormond but
Kolodynski was on hand to open the scoring.
In
almost identical fashion, Rugby doubled the margin
when Kolodynski again pounced on a parried effort.
Halesowen
had time to strike the post late on while at the
other end Stephan Morley produced a rasping drive
which cannoned off the underside of the crossbar
and bounced clear.
